3-Act Math Tasks

I recently became an Elementary Math Interventionist at a cyber school, and as I was looking for ways to engage my students, I came across the concept of 3-act math tasks. The idea of structuring a math problem like a Hollywood movie was originated by Dan Meyer. You can read his post about using this method HERE.

As I began using this strategy, I noticed a change in my students. They were beginning to think about math visually and were excited to solve problems. I discovered more resources created by Graham Fletcher and Kyle Pearce & Jon Orr of Making Math Moments That Matter.

Seeing their 3-act tasks inspired me to create my own and share them. I hope you are able to use them in your classroom!
